How splitting works in Kharchu

Split it your way

Equally, by shares or by exact amounts. Whoever paid gets the full amount credited to them.

Who owes whom, simplified

Kharchu works out the fewest payments that settle the whole group, so four friends don’t need a dozen transfers.

Settle up over UPI

Tap Settle up and your UPI app opens with the amount and a note filled in. Record the payment and everyone’s balance updates.

Invite with one link

Send the group’s invite link on WhatsApp. Friends tap it, sign in with their phone number and they’re in.

Your month stays honest

What you pay for the group counts in your month when you pay it; money paid back comes off when it arrives. Your month matches your bank account.

Trips with dates

Give a trip its dates and Kharchu puts it front and centre while it’s on, then tidies it away when it’s done.

Groups

Trips, flatmates, family. Split it, settle it.

Split bills and shared expenses with friends, flatmates and family, and always know who owes whom.

  • Add a group spend in the same two taps
  • Always know who owes whom, in as few payments as possible
  • Settle up over UPI, and invite anyone with one link

Splitting, answered

Do my friends need Kharchu too?

Yes. Everyone in a group signs in with their own phone number, so the same balances show on every phone.

How many people can be in a group?

Up to 20: enough for a trip, a flat or a wedding party.

Can I split unequally?

Yes. Split equally, by shares (two nights for one person, one for another), or by exact amounts.

Does it work without internet?

Yes. Add group spends anywhere; they sync to everyone as soon as you’re back online.

Start with your next chai.

Just your phone number. Your first spend takes two taps.
